Employment - Benefits

Thrift Plan

Employee may contribute 1 to 18 percent of pay. Eligible for Company contributions of up to 6 percent after completing one year of service. Contributions may be tax sheltered under a 401K provision.

Annuity Plan

Eligible after completing one year of vesting service. Paid by PPL. Participants are fully vested after 5 years of service.

Health Insurance

Comprehensive medical expense coverage for employee and family. PPL and employee share cost.

Dental Assistance

Covers examinations, some costs for restorations for employee and family and orthodontia for children. PPL and employee share cost.

Disability Benefit

Short Term - Incremental paid sick leave with maximum of 26 weeks at full salary and 26 weeks at ½ salary after 10 years. Long-Term - Monthly benefit up to 50 percent of salary at no cost to employee. Optional additional coverage available.

Death Benefits

Life Insurance - One times annual salary. Paid by PPL. Additional optional coverage up to 2 times annual salary. Paid by employee. Survivor Benefit - Lump sum payment to beneficiary of $500 plus monthly payments based on years of service times ½ employee’s monthly salary. Paid by PPL. Travel Accident - Up to 1-1/2 times salary for death/dismemberment. Paid by PPL. Accidental Death & Dismemberment - Up to $250,000 coverage. Paid by PPL.

Educational Refund

Employee may receive reimbursement for tuition and registration after completing college courses that have a bearing on future job responsibilities or courses in a degree program that qualifies.

Holiday

PPL observes 10 holidays each year. New Year’s Day, George Washington’s Birthday, Good Friday, National Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, Floating Holiday with Christmas Day. One personal day.
